A Stabbing And A Bad Driver
A Lake City man is sent by Life Flight after he was stabbed numerous time in his back and shoulder area. Eric Gabel is arrested for the attack. Gabel is accused of approaching the victim and starting an argument that turned into a fight. Gabel is then accused of pulling the knife and attacking the victim. Also a local women runs her Chevy S-10 into a ditch after a night out.

Brush Fire at Dekle Road and Brim St. Brings Out The Debut of R-43
Columbia County Fire Dept. responded to a brush fire on Dekle Road and Brim Street with its newest brush truck, the R-43. This vehicle was a former Forestry truck and only one of seven available. After months of training and refurbish, it came out swinging and showed it can take on the best of forest fires. The C.C.F.D. took this blaze head on and quickly showed what they could do. Great Job!

A Double-Wide Mobile Home Fire Leaves A Man Homeless
A double-wide mobile home is thought to have caught fire because of its fireplace.
Jerry Perry, the home owner, stated he had no other heat to use but his fireplace. He said he was watching t.v. when he saw smoke and went out back his back door and saw the flames on his roof. He escaped injury.

No Joy On Joy Lane After Fire Leaves 5 Homeless
A family of five are homeless on N.E.Joy Lane where a burning trash pile, out the back door, is thought to have caused the fire. A mother and son were home when the fire was spotted at the back of the home by the mother. She ran out the front door to the neighbors to call for help. The L.C.F.D.and C.C.F.D. were at the scene quickly and stopped the fire within minutes. Columbia County Deputies secured the area so the fire personnel could quickly do their work.

A Driver Runs A Red Light And Hits A Cadillac On Hwy. 90 In Front Of The New Publix
A Lake City Man was cited by the Lake City Police Dept. Tuesday afternoon after he wrecked his 2004 Dodge truck into a 1996 Cadillac. Steven Torbert, 51 of Lake City, admitted he ran the red light heading West on Hwy 90 at N.W. Commons Loop intersection. The crash sent the passenger of The Cadillac, 81 year old Irene Carnivale to a Gainesville hospital by Life Flight under the Trauma One status. Her condition is unknown at this time. The driver of the Cadillac, Nicholas Carnivale, was not injured.

18 Wheeler Rolls On It's Side Sunday Morning
A truck driver lost control of his 18 wheeler Sunday around 2:30 A.M. when he approached a slower moving vehicle. The truck driver, who was unnamed, hit the guardrail then flipped the truck on its side leaving it in a jack-knifed position. The truck came to rest blocking all three lanes of the North bound side of I-75. The driver is okay. Two lanes were reopened around 5:30 A.M..

Women Rolls Her G.M.C. Yukon On I-75 North
A 39 year old Spring Hill women is injured when she rolled her Yukon Friday night. Mary Hammell Was sent by life flight to a Gainesville hospital where her condition is unknown at this time.

Crash Closes Hwy 41 N. Bound For An Hour And A Brush Fire On The Westside
The Lake City Fire Dept.,Columbia County Sheriff's Office and E.M.S worked a two car accident that shut down Hwy.41 North for an hour. The wreck happened in front of a funeral home after a viewing.

The First Annual Ronald McDonald House Charity Run!
The First Annual Ronald McDonald House Charity Run was held Sat. November 8th. Lake City Sports On Tap hosted the event. Kick stands were up at 11 A.M. and went to The Keg Room, Frogs, Weggie's, Hanger 7 then back to Lake City Sports On Tap. Three different bands played and had everyone rocking. They also had bike games and an auction and raised around $1500.00! When times are tough or not, these great people always give and give. Great job everyone and thank you to all the people who donated!
